Play. We break through the outer layer of "life burdens" and "past struggles" and provide immersions that allow you to reconnect with yourself and the world around you in a way that is inclusive, safe, empowering and built on the idea that dreams are meant to be chased and explored. Play is the greatest form of education.
We wanted a place to create experiences and adventures for people to discover all the greatness within themselves and encourage them to use that to make the world a better place. People have forgotten how to play, how to escape the daily regimen of life and how to look at the world and themselves with an intentional heart.
Meet the Team
Intentional Heart describes everyone involved with both the day to day operation and the specialized network of providers that empower others to live life with intent to become better versions of themselves and to connect with others for the betterment of all.
Ramona Crabtree-Falkner began her wellness career with massage therapy, but this was simply a gateway to a deeper understanding of how to help others. Seeking more from her practice, Ramona began experiencing that growth through yoga teaching and training, eventually completing 500 hours of yoga teacher training.
Once she found her truth in treating not only the body, but the mind and spirit equally, she expanded her knowledge to energy healing modalities, including Reiki and Crystal Bowl treatments. With a strong vision to help others, Ramona developed the Authentic Life Journey programs and has now found the seam to all the truths becoming one. Ramona has cultivated a practice based in helping others find their way on the journey to inner peace.
Ramona offers Group Life Coaching, Private Life Coaching, Group Yoga, Private Yoga, Reiki, Crystal Bowls Meditations, Workshops and Retreats. Your experience with Ramona and the Authentic Life Journey Team will leave you feeling peaceful and open to the journey that is life!
Terri Harper, MA, LMHC
Terri fell into the world of Psychology quite by accident but also fell in love with it. After graduating from college, she started immediately working in community mental health in a drug-ridden, poverty-stricken area where she began to learn how to help those who were living a life that was unknown to her. She obtained her MA in Psychological Counseling and Terri has since worked in non-profit, community mental health in various settings from schools, outpatient clinics, residential substance abuse and community treatment.
Terri is drawn to helping others see their potential and how one can move forward through trauma and abuse, substance use and mental health issues. She believes in being genuine, authentic and transparent-- which is why Intentional Heart spoke so much to her.
Drawn to Shannon's passion and vision for Intentional Heart, she believes in the core message of learning how to be intentional and reconnecting with our hearts through mindfulness activities like yoga, music, artistic expression and being a part of nature. Terri's experience in counseling can help guide the process of healing and moving through to new moments of peace.
Originally from coastal New Jersey, Terri now resides in Central Florida where she works and plays with her two legged and four legged family.
Laura Hawkins, CPT
Laura has always been extremely passionate about fitness from very early on. She began her career in fitness over 15 years ago when she attended the National Personal Training Institute in San Francisco, California. Since then Laura has been involved with all different modalities of fitness. She specializes in core, strength, balance, stability and functional training techniques for women, children and men of all ages. Her main goal is to motivate, educate and inspire others to learn how to create inner happiness and a balanced well-being through healthy diet and exercise. In Laura’s free time she loves to adventure with her husband and 7 year old daughter. They enjoy biking, hiking, camping, running obstacle races and traveling the world!
Laura joined Intentional Heart because she believes that we all need to work on finding the truest version of ourselves. Through the workshops, retreats and different immersive experiences, it will give people the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of who they are and what they want to accomplish in this lifetime. We all need encouragement and support along life’s journey and Intentional Heart has a deep focus on both.
"Our body and mind are the only places that we have to live, so we owe it to ourselves to gain a deeper understanding of the synergistic interaction of both! We are the only ones that can change our lives. No one can do it for us!"
Ruth Tureckova, BA, Grad Dip.
Ruth has been a professional fundraiser and educator for the past 21 years working with non-profit organizations in higher education, adult education and literacy, health care as well with libraries, museums and other social service agencies. Daughter of an artist, now wife and mother to extraordinarily creative types, she is keen to help anyone, and everyone, including herself, experience the sustaining, nurturing benefits of creative exploration in all its facets.
The focus of Shannon and the team at Intentional Heart - to fill the world with more difference makers, more joy, more kindness and more healthy people that live life with an intentional heart and create a better world – is essentially why Ruth began working in the non-profit sector. Ruth’s core belief is that when you help to change one person’s life for the better there is a ripple effect on people around them. By helping one you can help many. She believes that Intentional Heart’s immersive experiences, retreats, workshops and programming will have a positive effect not just on the participants but on their families, friends and co-workers as they take what they have learned and make it an integral part of how they live their lives and interact with those they love.
Ruth and her family love to travel and explore. Born in the UK, raised in Australia, Ruth met and married ‘her’ artist and fellow explorer in Japan. After close to a decade in Asia, they moved to the beaches of Rhode Island where they continue to learn and benefit from connections with wonderful people like Shannon and the team at Intentional Heart.
